- WELCOME - Shelton's Ash Manor sits on almost 500 hilly acres of Classified Forest and creek bottom farmland that you are welcome to explore. Deer, turkey, squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, bobcats, coyotes, and many bird species abound. There is good fishing in the Indian-Kentuck Creek at the lower part of the property. The creek is also a great place to wade and find fossils. Although our place will seem very isolated (especially as you are traveling down the narrow three-quarter mile lane), we are less than nine miles from downtown Madison, IN and ten miles from Kroger, Walmart, and Lowes.

Ash Manor embodies "frontier elegance" and almost defies
description as one is so totally surrounded by its history and
serenity. We continue to be amazed at the detail and genius that the
builder, Orbin Ash, Jr., brought to this house. He combined the
salvaged timbers from three Kentucky log cabins to create this very
elegant log home, authentic to the late eighteenth century. It is
full of wonderful antique furnishings that are usable and
functional.
